I have yet to have anything bad here at Sushi Joy. It is still the finest Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Boise. Bar none! I by far prefer the Japanese cuisine over the Chinese and that is not because one is better than the other. It is just a preference. The Samurai Yellowtail, as listed on the first photo below, was awesome. A great ying-yang of sweet and biting flavors. The Yellowtail is somewhat sweet. The House Sauce was pleasingly biting. If I could give them a rating of more than 5-Stars, I certainly would. But just be assured, this restaurant is a solid, very solid, 5-Stars. Left-Click any of these photos to see them enlarged. Cheers!
Tonight we took a break from our kitchen and went tro our favorite Japanese/Chinese/American restaurant – Sushi Joy! And once again, it was 5-Stars out of 5-Stars! Super good. Super delightful. And here Tiger, one of the owners, is doing a super job in making some sashimi and it is fantastic! He does a great job.
The Idaho Foodie Meet-Up group met at the Happy Fish Sushi and Martini Bar in downtown Boise today for lunch. Not bad, but my benchmarks are still Sushi Joy and Shige. That’s not to say that we would not return here. No way. Probably rated at 4 1/4 – Stars out of 5. It’s just not “as good” as our benchmarks. But that’s very subjective and I realize that. Here is what we had. Robin, myself and Bernadette were the only ones there. The ladies each had a bowl of Miso. It smelled good. You missed a good adventure. Enjoy!

Some call this fish white tuna, but it is actually snake mackerel. A buttery white fish that melts in your mouth!
