Boise Restaurant Guide – 52 Restaurant Choices! Updated: July 2018

Robin-Bob-In-Kitchen_Looking-RightIf you are looking for places to eat in Boise, this should help you find some restaurants in Boise and in the surrounding area – at least some of them – that we have visited and liked. There is a large variety. I will not rate them here, but to make this list, the restaurant will have to rate 3-Stars or higher. 5-Stars is the highest. Absolutely nothing wrong with 3-Stars! Most of these restaurants have their own websites where you can get more information. On some of the posts, too, you will find a link called Blog Post:. Click on that link for an article and more information with photos that we wrote. Happy hunting!
This list should include: Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc), Bistro, Buffets, American Home Style and Diners, Indian and Pakistani, Mediterrean Cuisine (Greek, Egyptian, Persian, etc), Brewpubs, Pizza, Italian and Drive-Ins and more when we visit them. This is an ongoing adventure and, hopefully, a never ending quest. One must eat! If you find something in the listings that I have overlooked and not included, please let me know and I will correct it. To search for “your favorite” cuisine, use Control+F and enter your search request. Look for this statement for these resturants: They use local products whenever possible! Think Local – Buy Local!

And please, let these folks know that you saw their listing here on the Boise Foodie Guild Blog. Thanks!

And yes, the kids are welcome! 4-Star restaurant in Boise. And here is a link to their extensive Fondue Menu. Check it out! More importantly, I think, is “just what is a fondue?”
According to the Cambridge dictionary, “a hot dish prepared by keeping a container of either hot oil or melted cheese over a flame at the table and putting pieces of meat in the oil to be cooked or pieces of bread into the cheese.”
And from Justhungry.com, “In Switzerland, ‘la fondue’ means a cheese fondue and nothing else. Other types of dip-bits-of-food-in-a-communal-pot dishes are specifically called fondue-something, e.g. fondue bourgignonne (bits of beef filet fried in a pot of oil), fondue chinoise (thin slices of beef or other things cooked in a pot of broth), and so on.”
The cheese fondue at The Melting Pot consists of, “CLASSIC ALPINE – rich, sweet-yet-earthy
Featured Cheeses: Gruyère, Raclette, Fontina. Melted with: White wine, garlic, fresh nutmeg. Gluten Free $8.95” Delcicous. Here is what we had to complete this 4-Star evening. Our review can be found By Clicking Here.

While both lunch and dinner are served at Sophia’s, options for the latter are more extensive. Litsa said some of the most popular dishes include: – Hippie Dippie gyro – combination of beef and lamb served on pita bread with lettuce, tomato, onion and hippie dippie sauce (spicy tzatziki). $7 – Greek Sampler Plate – one tyropitakia, one spanakopita, hippie dippie, hummus mitti, feta leelee and three warm pita breads. $16.”
