Some where on FaceBook a while ago, I saw this unique idea for holding a recipe “out of the way” while you are trying to create a dish. Easy enough to do and as you can see here, we have more than one in our kitchen. Give it a try. You’ll like it. (Mikey did!)
Recipe holder made from “skirt” hangers. Hang them where you are working and they are out of the way.

I have recently been reading the recipes on the Boise Foodie Blog and would like to try some of them. I noticed that they required “fresh yeast”. Do you know where I can buy fresh yeast in Boise?Thank you,

My response to her was,
Hi Brook,
“Fresh Yeast” is the same as Fleischman’s Active Dry or Red Star also makes some. Usually the yeast will come in a jar and should be refrigerated after opening. Watch the expiration date printed on the top. Albertsons or any of the major food stores will carry it. You can buy bulk at the Boise Coop. Hope this helps.

I suppose Winco, Fred Meyer and several others that I can not think of just now, carry the yeast. It’s a pretty basic product for baking. I hope this helps.

News from Barbacoa
We’d like to first express our deepest sympathy for the employees and families of Barbacoa. Our main concern is for their well being. My wife Martine and I plan on doing everything in our power to help them through this difficult time.
Secondly we would like to thank our friends and community for their well wishes and outpouring of support, it is in trying times when you come to know your friends and it is nice to see how many Barbacoa has.
Without question, we will rebuild. The wheels are already in motion and we look forward to serving the community again as soon as possible.

Considering all that has happened within the last few days we did not get a chance to thank everyone for the amazing New Years Eve we had! It was a fantastic night, great friends and great guest. Between the dance floor being packed, the dj blasting away or the fire show at midnight, it is definatly a night that won’t be forgotten by any of us. Thank you everyone that attended.
